The EN 81 series is the core mandatory standard for CE certification of elevator products in the EU. The core contents of this revision include: the EN 81-20 part updates the installation technical requirements of elevator hoistway, machine room and car, and adds the installation specification of intelligent elevators; the EN 81-50 part updates the design, test and verification standards of elevator safety components, and adds 10 mandatory test items for safety components; simultaneously updates the relevant technical requirements of elevator fire prevention, shock resistance and energy saving, which is consistent with the latest EU elevator regulations. The standard sets a 9-month transition period and will be officially implemented on January 1, 2025. All elevator products entering the EU market must meet the requirements of the new version of the standard.
