This standard is the core mandatory basic safety standard for China's elevator industry, formulated under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization of China, covering the whole-process safety requirements for the manufacturing, installation and inspection of passenger and goods lifts. Compared with the old version, the core upgrades of this revision include: first, adding safety technical requirements for smart elevators and IoT monitoring systems to adapt to the digital development trend of the industry; second, upgrading the safety performance indicators of core components such as elevator door systems, braking systems, and upward overspeed protection devices, in line with the latest international safety standards; third, refining the technical requirements related to elevator earthquake resistance, fire protection and environmental protection, and improving the safety specifications for elevators in special scenarios (such as high altitude, high temperature and high humidity environments); fourth, clarifying the traceability management requirements for the whole life cycle of elevators, and strengthening the responsibility boundaries of each link of design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance. The implementation of this standard will comprehensively improve the intrinsic safety level of Chinese elevator products, promote the full integration of Chinese elevator technical standards with the international market, and provide standardized support for the global trade of Chinese elevator products.
