2024 Global Elevator Energy Efficiency Standard Ranking Released, EU, China, Japan Rank Top Three
On December 15, 2024, the ISO/TC 178 Elevator Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization released the 2024 Global Elevator Energy Efficiency Standard Assessment Report, comprehensively evaluating elevator energy efficiency regulations, standards and implementation efforts in 42 major elevator producing and consuming countries around the world, forming a global elevator energy efficiency standard ranking. The evaluation indicators include five dimensions: energy efficiency access threshold, energy consumption test standard, energy efficiency label management, mandatory energy-saving technology requirements and market supervision intensity. Ranking results: First place EU, with the strictest energy efficiency standards, implementing level 2 energy efficiency access from 2025, comprehensive requirements for intelligent energy saving and environmental protection materials, and strict market supervision; Second place China, comprehensively promoting elevator energy efficiency improvement in 2024, issuing a series of standards such as GB/T 42615, strengthening energy efficiency requirements simultaneously with old elevator renovation, and central financial subsidies supporting green elevators; Third place Japan, combining aging and energy-saving needs, paying equal attention to elevator energy efficiency and barrier-free design, and implementing elevator life cycle energy consumption management; Fourth place United States, ASME A17.1 standard strengthens elevator energy efficiency and environmental protection requirements, with differentiated supervision implemented by each state; Fifth place South Korea, revising elevator energy efficiency standards in 2024, promoting energy feedback and intelligent standby technology; Sixth place Australia, AS 1735 standard clarifies elevator energy efficiency levels, with strict energy efficiency control for imported elevators; Seventh place Canada, CSA B44 standard simultaneously updates elevator energy efficiency requirements; Eighth place United Kingdom, BS EN standard strengthens elevator energy saving and environmental protection; Ninth place Russia, GOST standard adds elevator energy efficiency clauses; Tenth place India, IS standard gradually raises elevator energy efficiency access threshold. The report points out that global elevator energy efficiency standards are becoming increasingly strict, and green and low-carbon has become the mainstream trend of elevator industry development.
