China Issued 2025 Version of National Standard for Technical Specification of Elevator Internet of Things
On September 15, 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China officially issued the national standard GB/T 46201-2025 Technical Specification for Elevator Internet of Things, which will be officially implemented on April 1, 2026. This standard is the first national basic standard in the field of elevator Internet of Things in China. The core contents include: First, clarify the scope of application of the standard, covering the design, development, deployment, operation and maintenance, data interaction and application of the elevator Internet of Things system, applicable to the Internet of Things applications in the whole process of elevator production, installation, maintenance, use and supervision. Second, establish the system architecture of the elevator Internet of Things, standardize the four-layer system architecture of the perception layer, network layer, platform layer and application layer, and clarify the functional requirements and technical specifications of each layer. Third, unify the data specifications of the elevator Internet of Things, formulate unified coding, data format and transmission protocol for elevator operation data, status data, fault data, maintenance data, inspection data and emergency rescue data, to realize data intercommunication and sharing between different platforms. Fourth, standardize the technical requirements of elevator perception terminals, clarify the mandatory technical standards for installation, power supply, communication, data collection and accuracy level of elevator Internet of Things sensors and collection terminals. Fifth, refine the functional requirements of the elevator Internet of Things platform, and standardize the platform functional standards for data storage, data processing, fault early warning, remote monitoring, statistical analysis and emergency scheduling. Sixth, clarify the security requirements of the elevator Internet of Things, and formulate technical specifications for data security, network security, equipment security and application security to ensure the safe and stable operation of the elevator Internet of Things system. Seventh, standardize the requirements for application scenarios of the elevator Internet of Things, and formulate standardized functional and performance requirements for core application scenarios such as smart supervision, intelligent maintenance, emergency rescue, energy consumption management, and ride safety. The release of this standard solves the industry pain points of inconsistent data and inconsistent standards of the national elevator Internet of Things platforms, and promotes the digital and intelligent transformation of China's elevator industry.
