Core changes of the new regulation: First, comprehensively upgraded seismic performance requirements, clarifying that elevators must pass the TSE seismic performance test, simulate the vibration and impact test under the condition of magnitude 7.5 earthquake. Elevator guide rails, brackets, cars, counterweights, and machine room equipment must have sufficient seismic strength, and elevator safety devices must work normally after the earthquake; Second, tightened electrical safety requirements, upgraded the safety requirements of elevator electrical systems, requiring elevator electrical equipment to have waterproof, dustproof, and anti-corrosion properties to adapt to the high temperature and high humidity geographical environment of Turkey; Third, upgraded fire performance requirements, clarifying that materials used in elevator cars, landing doors, and shaft enclosure structures must comply with TSE EN 13501 fire protection standard, and flame retardant performance, smoke density, and toxicity indicators must pass the test; Fourth, tightened energy efficiency requirements, upgraded elevator energy efficiency requirements. Passenger elevators and escalators entering the Turkish market must reach energy efficiency grade 3 and above; Fifth, adjusted certification process, elevator products must first obtain the TSE type approval certificate, and must apply for the product conformity certificate (CoC) when each batch of goods is cleared. The certification certificate of the original TSE EN 81-1:2014 standard will expire on July 1, 2028.
