In October 2025, the International Energy Agency (IEA), together with the International Federation of Elevator Associations (GEEAF), officially released the 2025 Global Elevator Energy Efficiency Development Report, announcing the 2025 global top 10 countries by implementation of elevator energy efficiency standards. The report comprehensively scored 50 major countries and regions around the world from four dimensions: the perfection of the standard system, mandatory energy efficiency requirements, the penetration rate of energy-saving technologies, and policy support. The TOP 10 ranking released this time is as follows: 1. European Union, with a comprehensive score of 92 points, ranking first in the world, has established a complete elevator energy efficiency standard system, mandatorily implemented the elevator energy efficiency rating labeling system, and the penetration rate of energy-saving elevators exceeds 85%; 2. China, with a comprehensive score of 88 points, ranking second in the world, has issued a number of national standards for elevator energy efficiency, the penetration rate of energy-saving elevators exceeds 80%, and is equipped with a complete energy-saving incentive policy; 3. United States, with a comprehensive score of 85 points, ranking third in the world, has established a complete elevator energy efficiency standard system, and the penetration rate of energy-saving elevators exceeds 75%; 4. Japan, with a comprehensive score of 82 points, ranking fourth in the world; 5. South Korea, with a comprehensive score of 78 points, ranking fifth in the world; 6. Australia, with a comprehensive score of 75 points, ranking sixth in the world; 7. Canada, with a comprehensive score of 72 points, ranking seventh in the world; 8. Switzerland, with a comprehensive score of 70 points, ranking eighth in the world; 9. Norway, with a comprehensive score of 68 points, ranking ninth in the world; 10. Singapore, with a comprehensive score of 65 points, ranking tenth in the world. The report also pointed out that more than 30 countries and regions around the world have issued mandatory standards for elevator energy efficiency, the proportion of energy-saving elevators in global new elevator installations has reached 72%, and elevator energy-saving technology has become the core trend of the global elevator industry development.
