This standard is jointly formulated under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization and the National Technical Committee for Ship Standardization of China. It is applicable to passenger lifts, goods lifts and dumbwaiters installed in inland ships, ocean-going ships, offshore oil platforms and offshore wind power platforms, covering the whole life cycle safety management of marine lifts. The core contents of the standard include: first, clarifying the adaptation requirements for special working conditions of ships, formulating special design and protection requirements for extreme marine working conditions such as hull sway, heel and trim, heave vibration, high humidity and high salt spray, and clarifying that the elevator must operate stably and normally under the working conditions of ±10° heel and ±7.5° trim, and the anti-corrosion grade of offshore platform elevators shall not be lower than C5-M grade; second, refining the core safety protection system, mandating that marine lifts must be equipped with dual independent braking systems, anti-fall safety gear, unintended car movement protection device, and ship tilt emergency leveling system, and clarifying the special requirements for emergency rescue and safe docking in extreme scenarios such as ship power failure, fire and water ingress; third, improving the safety specifications for electrical and control systems, formulating special standards for moisture-proof, salt spray-proof, lightning protection and electromagnetic compatibility of electrical equipment in view of the characteristics of strong corrosion and strong electromagnetic interference in the marine environment, mandating the configuration of double-circuit independent power supply and UPS uninterruptible emergency power supply to ensure the stable operation of the elevator under ship working conditions; fourth, standardizing the installation and acceptance requirements, clarifying the construction safety specifications, hull structure adaptation requirements, welding and anti-corrosion standards for elevator installation during ship construction, and formulating the whole-process inspection items and judgment standards for classification society inspection, factory inspection and on-site acceptance of marine lifts; fifth, refining the operation and maintenance and inspection specifications, formulating the cycle and project requirements for regular inspection and maintenance of marine lifts in view of the poor accessibility of ocean-going navigation and offshore operations of ships, and clarifying the emergency disposal and spare parts management specifications for offshore scenarios. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively standardized the production and installation market of marine lifts in China, promoted the full integration of marine special elevator technology with the international market, and also provided standardized technical support for the global export of Chinese marine lift products, adapting to the supporting elevator procurement demand of the global shipbuilding, offshore oil and gas, and offshore wind power industries.
