National Standard GB/T 35855-2025 Safety Code for the Construction and Installation of Hospital Lifts Officially Released
This standard is jointly formulated under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization and the National Technical Committee for Medical Building Standardization of China. It is applicable to medical passenger elevators installed in medical places such as hospitals, sanatoriums and rehabilitation centers, covering the whole life cycle safety management of three categories: stretcher lifts, clean room lifts and emergency special lifts. Compared with the old version, the core upgrades of this revision include: first, reconstructing the classification system of hospital lifts, dividing them into four categories: ordinary stretcher lifts, ICU special lifts, clean operating room lifts and emergency special lifts according to the use scenarios, and clarifying the applicable scenarios and core technical indicators of different types of lifts; second, refining the car space and functional design specifications, mandating that the net size of the stretcher lift car must adapt to standard hospital beds and emergency trolleys, clarifying the aging-friendly and barrier-free design requirements of car handrails, emergency call devices and control panels, and emergency lifts must be equipped with special first-aid equipment fixing devices and power supply interfaces; third, improving the special technical requirements for clean room lifts, formulating special standards for car airtightness, antibacterial performance, dust and water resistance, and air purification for clean lifts used in operating rooms and sterile wards, mandating that the inner wall of the car must adopt antibacterial and easy-to-clean materials, and the protection grade shall not be lower than IP54; fourth, upgrading the operation performance and emergency guarantee requirements, clarifying the leveling accuracy, operation stability and noise limit of hospital lifts, mandating that hospital lifts must be equipped with double-circuit independent power supply and UPS uninterruptible emergency power supply, and can ensure that the elevator completes at least 3 complete operation cycles and emergency leveling in case of power failure; fifth, standardizing the installation and acceptance standards, clarifying the construction cleanliness requirements, cross-operation protection specifications, on-site acceptance items and judgment standards for elevator installation in medical places, and including the special functions of hospital lifts into the mandatory items of supervision and inspection; sixth, refining the operation and maintenance and disinfection specifications, formulating the cycle and project requirements for regular inspection and maintenance of hospital lifts in view of the characteristics of high-frequency use and frequent disinfection in medical places, and clarifying the resistance to disinfection and corrosion performance standards of elevator components and daily disinfection operation specifications. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively standardized the production and installation market of hospital lifts in China, guaranteed the safety and efficiency of vertical travel in medical places, and also promoted the full integration of China's hospital lift products with the international market, providing standardized technical support for the export of China's hospital lift products to the global medical infrastructure market.
