This standard is identical to the latest ISO 25745 series standards and specifies measurement methods, calculation methods and classification systems for elevator energy efficiency. From the effective date, all new elevators sold in the Indian market must obtain BIS energy efficiency certification and affix energy labels. Elevators without certification will be prohibited from being sold and installed in India.
