This revision is for the ISO 8103 series of standards "Safety Specifications for Escalators and Moving Walks". The core addition is the safety protection requirements for escalators used by people with reduced mobility, including the synchronous control of handrail speed, anti-skid performance of steps, barrier-free layout of emergency stop devices, and optimization standards for visual and auditory warning systems. At the same time, the revised version improves the safety design requirements of escalators in the scenario of large passenger flow in public transport hubs, and refines the fatigue load test and life evaluation specifications. After the standard takes effect, it will become the core compliance reference for the international trade of global escalator products, and promote the standardized development of the global barrier-free vertical transportation system.
