This standard applies to all new elevators installed in India. The Indian government stipulates that from April 1, 2026, all newly installed elevators must meet the requirements of this new version of the standard. At the same time, for already installed elevators, necessary retrofits are required to be completed by March 31, 2029 to meet the safety requirements of the new standard.
