This standard applies to all new elevators installed in Brazil. The Brazilian government stipulates that from January 1, 2026, all newly installed elevators must meet the requirements of this new version of the standard. At the same time, for already installed elevators, necessary retrofits are required to be completed by December 31, 2028 to meet the safety requirements of the new standard.
