On November 20, 2024, Thailand Ministry of Industry (MOI) jointly with Ministry of Energy released Elevator Energy Efficiency and Environmental Management Specifications, implemented on April 1, 2025. Core contents:

1. Energy efficiency requirements: Minimum level 3 energy efficiency for new elevators, upgraded to level 2 by 2027, mandatory energy feedback, intelligent standby, LED lighting, standby energy consumption reduced by 40%;

2. Environmental materials: Elevator materials recyclable ≥80%, low VOC, asbestos-free, zero CFC, heavy metals compliant;

3. Green certification: New elevators must obtain Thailand TISI green elevator certification, affix mark, uncertified products prohibited from sale;

4. Stock transformation: Energy efficiency and environmental transformation synchronized with old elevator renewal, 60% of stock elevators compliant by 2028, 100% by 2030;

5. Financial subsidies: 20% equipment subsidy for green elevators, 50% reduction in certification fees;

6. Supervision: Energy efficiency and environmental data reported to supervision platform, fine for exceeding standard, product recall;

7. Maintenance: Environmental consumables used in maintenance, waste oil, old components recycled. The new regulations promote Thailand elevator industry green transformation
