Japanese JIS A 4301:2024 Elevator Standard Revised and Implemented
JIS A 4301 is the core mandatory standard for Japan's elevator industry. The 2024 version focuses on Japan's multi-earthquake geographical characteristics, revises the seismic design requirements of elevator guide rails, cars, and traction systems, adds the control specification for the linkage between earthquake early warning systems and elevators, and clarifies the process and standards for elevator safety inspection after strong earthquakes. At the same time, the standard adds energy efficiency grading requirements for energy-saving elevators, promoting the low-carbon development of Japan's elevator industry. This standard is a mandatory basis for the access of elevator products in the Japanese market, and also provides an important reference for the formulation of seismic elevator standards in East Asia.
