This regulation is formulated based on the EU's Ecodesign Directive, with core contents including: establishing a unified EU elevator energy efficiency grading system, dividing elevators into 5 grades from A++ to D; mandating that all new elevators entering the EU market must reach grade A+ and above from January 1, 2027, and low-energy-efficiency elevators below grade B are prohibited from being placed on the market; updating the mandatory test standards for elevator energy consumption, clarifying the test methods for standby energy consumption, operation energy consumption and regenerative energy utilization efficiency of elevators; requiring all elevator products to be affixed with a unified EU energy efficiency label, otherwise they cannot be sold in the EU market. The regulation sets a 22-month transition period and will officially take effect on January 1, 2027.
