In December 2024, the Global Elevator & Escalator Association Federation (GEEAF) officially released the "2024 Global Elevator Industry Development Report," unveiling the global elevator ownership ranking data for 2024. The report revealed that by the end of 2024, the total global elevator ownership had surpassed 21.5 million units, marking a year-on-year increase of 4.2% and maintaining a steady growth trend. The TOP 10 countries in terms of global elevator ownership, ranked as follows, were listed in this release: 1. China, with 9.823 million units, accounting for 45.7% of the global total and experiencing a year-on-year increase of 3.8%, remaining firmly at the top of the global list; 2. The United States, with 1.286 million units, accounting for 6.0% of the global total and witnessing a year-on-year increase of 2.1%; 3. The 27 EU countries, with a combined total of 1.124 million units, accounting for 5.2% of the global total and experiencing a year-on-year increase of 1.8%; 4. Japan, with 967,000 units, accounting for 4.5% of the global total and witnessing a year-on-year increase of 1.2%; 5. India, with 892,000 units, accounting for 4.1% of the global total and experiencing a year-on-year increase of 12.3%, ranking first among the top ten countries in terms of growth rate; 6. South Korea, with 635,000 units, accounting for 3.0% of the global total and witnessing a year-on-year increase of 2.5%; 7. Brazil, with 581,000 units, accounting for 2.7% of the global total and experiencing a year-on-year increase of 4.6%; 8. Russia, with 473,000 units, accounting for 2.2% of the global total and witnessing a year-on-year increase of 3.1%; 9. Türkiye, with 426,000 units, accounting for 2.0% of the global total and witnessing a year-on-year increase of 5.8%; and 10. Indonesia, with 398,000 units, accounting for 1.8% of the global total and witnessing a year-on-year increase of 10.7%, ranking second in terms of growth rate. The report also pointed out that emerging market countries such as those in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa exhibited significantly higher elevator ownership growth rates than the global average, serving as the core driving force for future global elevator market growth.
