Revised National Standard GB/T 38968-2025 Specification for Installation and Acceptance of Home Lifts Released
This standard applies to home lifts with a rated speed of no more than 0.4m/s and a rated load of no more than 400kg. The core upgrades for private residential installation scenarios are as follows: first, refining installation environment adaptation requirements, clarifying the shaft size, wall load-bearing capacity and floor height limits of low-rise residences, villas and duplex buildings, requiring home lifts to be deeply integrated with the building's decoration style, and the sound insulation between the shaft and the surrounding space shall be no less than 45dB; second, strengthening barrier-free aging-friendly configurations, mandating the installation of low-level control panels (height ≤ 900mm), three-sided handrails, anti-pinch door devices and one-key emergency leveling rescue to adapt to the use of the elderly, children and people with limited mobility; third, standardizing installation safety requirements, clarifying construction parameters such as guide rail installation accuracy, car balance degree, wire rope/chain tension, and adding special installation specifications for machine-room-less home lifts and pit-less home lifts to reduce the threshold of residential renovation; fourth, improving acceptance standards, refining test items such as operation stability, leveling accuracy, noise limit and effectiveness of safety devices after installation, and clarifying the rectification requirements for unqualified acceptance items to ensure the safe and comfortable operation of home lifts; fifth, establishing after-sales operation and maintenance specifications, formulating quarterly inspections, core component maintenance and emergency rescue plans for home lifts, and clarifying the maintenance cycle and responsible subject. After the implementation of this standard, China's home lift products will enter the global residential market with higher safety and adaptability, providing clear standard guidance for overseas residential elevator trade.
