China Elevator Association Released the Group Standard T/CEA 0149-2026 Code for Detection and Adjustment of Elevator Balance Coefficient
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Elevator Association, and is jointly compiled by the National Elevator Quality Inspection and Testing Center and domestic elevator inspection institutions. It is applicable to the detection and adjustment of the balance coefficient of traction-driven elevators with rated speed no more than 10m/s. The core contents of the standard include: first, establishing the design and qualified range of the balance coefficient, clarifying the design principles and recommended value range of the elevator balance coefficient. The recommended value of the balance coefficient for ordinary passenger elevators is 0.4~0.5, and the recommended value for goods elevators is 0.45~0.55, and clarifying the design requirements of the balance coefficient for elevators with different loads and different use scenarios; second, refining the detection methods of the balance coefficient, formulating the operation process, test conditions, data collection and calculation specifications of the four mainstream detection methods: current method, power method, torque method and weighing method, clarifying the applicable scenarios, accuracy requirements and operation points of different detection methods, and standardizing the selection, calibration and use requirements of detection instruments; third, standardizing the detection environment and safety requirements, clarifying the on-site environmental requirements, elevator operating conditions requirements and safety protection measures for balance coefficient detection, formulating the safety operation procedures during the detection process, and strictly prohibiting illegal operations during the detection process; fourth, improving the balance coefficient adjustment specifications, formulating special operation specifications for counterweight adjustment and car weight adjustment for elevators with excessive balance coefficient, clarifying the re-inspection requirements and qualification judgment standards after adjustment, and strictly prohibiting covering up the problem of excessive balance coefficient by modifying frequency converter parameters; fifth, clarifying the special requirements for different scenarios, formulating the cycle, items and qualification judgment standards for balance coefficient detection for newly installed elevators, in-service elevators and transformed elevators respectively, and clarifying the detection requirements of balance coefficient in regular elevator inspection and supervision inspection; sixth, establishing an associated evaluation system between balance coefficient and elevator energy saving and safety, clarifying the impact of excessive balance coefficient on elevator traction capacity, braking performance, energy consumption level and component life, and formulating the risk classification and disposal requirements for abnormal balance coefficient. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively standardized the detection and adjustment behavior of China's elevator balance coefficient, improved the accuracy and standardization of elevator detection, guaranteed the traction safety and operation energy saving of elevators from the source, and also promoted the standardized development of elevator detection technology, providing standardized technical support for the global export of China's elevator detection technology and instruments and equipment.
