This standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Elevator Association, and is jointly compiled by domestic architectural design and research institutes and observation lift manufacturers. It is applicable to traction-driven observation lifts with rated speed no more than 10m/s and transparent glass car walls/doors, covering indoor, outdoor, shaft-type and wall-mounted observation lifts in all scenarios. The core contents of the standard include: first, establishing the classification system of observation lifts, dividing observation lifts into three categories: shaft type, wall-mounted type and independent type according to the installation form, car structure and transparent surface proportion, and clarifying the applicable scenarios and design requirements of different types of lifts; second, refining the car structure and safety design specifications, formulating special technical requirements for the strength, impact resistance, bulletproof and splash-proof of glass materials for observation lifts with glass car walls and glass car doors, mandating the use of double-layer laminated safety glass with a thickness of no less than 12mm, and clarifying the strength and stiffness design standards of the glass fixing structure; third, improving the operation performance and comfort requirements, formulating special limit standards for operation stability, leveling accuracy, noise and vibration in view of the characteristics of panoramic view and high-frequency start and stop of observation lifts, clarifying the design requirements of acceleration and deceleration and operation speed of observation lifts, and improving the ride comfort of passengers; fourth, adding special specifications for outdoor observation lifts, formulating special technical requirements for waterproof, dustproof, sun protection, wind pressure resistance and lightning protection for outdoor installed observation lifts, clarifying the operation control and emergency protection measures under extreme weather, and the protection grade of outdoor observation lifts shall not be lower than IP54; fifth, standardizing the installation and acceptance requirements, clarifying the special construction specifications for shaft structure, glass curtain wall adaptation and car installation and commissioning of observation lifts, and formulating the on-site acceptance items and judgment standards for the glass structure safety performance, operation performance and safety devices of observation lifts; sixth, refining the operation and maintenance and safety management requirements, formulating the cycle and project requirements for regular inspection and maintenance of observation lifts in view of the characteristics of glass structure and exposed components, and clarifying the daily inspection, wear and aging detection standards and scrapping and replacement requirements of the glass structure. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively standardized the production and installation market of observation lifts in China, promoted the standardized and normalized development of observation lift technology, and also provided standardized technical support for the global export of China's observation lift products, adapting to the procurement demand of observation lifts in global commercial, cultural and tourism, and super high-rise infrastructure projects.
