This standard is jointly developed by the National Technical Committee on Elevator Standardization and the National Technical Committee on Environmental Management Standardization. It applies to the entire process management of design, production, and recycling of various elevator products, including passenger elevators, freight elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. It serves as the core technical basis for green certification, green procurement, and export trade compliance of Chinese elevator products. The core content of the standard includes: firstly, establishing a green design framework for the entire lifecycle of elevators, clarifying the basic principles, core processes, and evaluation indicators of green design for elevator products, and requiring comprehensive consideration of the environmental impact throughout the entire lifecycle of material selection, manufacturing, transportation, installation, use, and recycling disposal during the elevator design phase, thereby reducing carbon emissions and resource consumption from the source; secondly, refining the specifications for green material selection, clarifying the requirements for environmental friendliness, recyclability, and renewability of elevator materials, prioritizing the use of low-carbon, environmentally friendly, and recyclable materials, restricting the use of highly polluting, high-energy-consumption, and non-degradable materials, and specifying the limit standards for harmful substances such as heavy metals and volatile organic compounds; thirdly, standardizing green production and manufacturing requirements, clarifying the technical requirements for energy conservation and consumption reduction, clean production, waste reduction, and resource recycling in the elevator manufacturing process, and developing green factory evaluation indicators for elevator production factories; fourthly, establishing a carbon footprint accounting system for elevator products, clarifying the accounting methods, accounting boundaries, data collection, and reporting requirements for the entire lifecycle carbon footprint of elevator products, unifying the accounting standards for elevator product carbon emissions, and adapting to the compliance requirements of global carbon tariffs and carbon footprint certification; fifthly, improving the specifications for elevator recycling, clarifying the technical requirements for dismantling design and recyclability design of elevator products, standardizing the full-process management requirements for remanufacturing of parts, material recycling, and harmless disposal after elevator decommissioning, and promoting the development of a circular economy in the elevator industry; sixthly, establishing an evaluation system for green elevator products, establishing an evaluation index system for green elevator products covering four dimensions: resource attributes, energy attributes, environmental attributes, and quality attributes, providing a standardized basis for green product certification and government green procurement. The implementation of this standard comprehensively improves the green and low-carbon standard system of the Chinese elevator industry, promotes the green and high-quality development of the Chinese elevator industry, and also provides standardized support for Chinese elevator products to cope with global carbon tariffs and green trade barriers, further enhancing the core competitiveness of Chinese green elevator products in the global market.
