ISO 25745-2:2026 totals 36 pages and applies to all passenger and goods elevators. The main changes include:

1) Improved energy consumption calculation method, considering more factors affecting elevator energy consumption, such as traffic patterns, floor heights, load capacities, etc.;

2) Updated the energy efficiency classification system, changing the original A-G levels to A+++-D levels, raising the requirements for the highest energy efficiency level;

3) Added evaluation methods for renewable energy utilization;

4) Clarified the conditions and procedures for elevator energy efficiency testing;

5) Provided guidance suggestions for elevator energy efficiency optimization.

The publication of this standard will promote the development of energy-saving technologies in the global elevator industry and help the construction industry achieve carbon neutrality goals.
