On September 10, 2025, Brazil Ministry of Environment (MMA) jointly with Ministry of Housing released Elevator Industry Green Low-carbon Development Plan, implemented on January 1, 2026. Core contents:

1. Green certification: New elevators must obtain Brazilian INMETRO green elevator certification from 2026, meeting level 2 energy efficiency, low-carbon materials, recyclable ≥85%;

2. Energy efficiency upgrade: Energy feedback, intelligent standby, LED lighting mandatory, standby energy consumption reduced by 40%, operation energy consumption reduced by 30%;

3. Carbon neutrality target: Elevator industry carbon emissions reduced by 40% by 2030 compared to 2020, 70% by 2040, carbon neutral by 2045;

4. Stock transformation: Green transformation synchronized with old elevator renewal, 50% of stock compliant by 2028, 100% by 2035;

5. Financial subsidy: 25% equipment subsidy for green elevators, full exemption of certification fees;

6. Supervision: Uncertified new elevators banned from sale, fine for exceeding standard, product recall. Policy promotes Brazil elevator industry green low-carbon transformation.
