This standard is the first cross-member unified regional standard for elevator products in ASEAN. The core contents include: establishing unified technical requirements for elevator safety and performance in ten ASEAN countries, realizing mutual recognition of standards among member states; in line with the ISO 8100 international standard, and adapting to the geographical and climatic environment of high temperature, high humidity and multiple typhoons in Southeast Asia, adding the environmental adaptability requirements of elevator equipment; clarifying the conformity assessment procedure of elevator products, and unifying the testing and certification requirements of ASEAN elevator products; updating the relevant technical specifications for elevator installation, maintenance and inspection. The standard sets an 8-month transition period and will be officially implemented on January 1, 2026, and will become the core basis for the formulation of national elevator standards in ASEAN countries.
