This new regulation is the core revision of Australia's Elevator Safety Act 2019. The core adjustments include: canceling the original scattered elevator certification systems of each state and implementing a unified national elevator compliance certification system; adding pre-approval requirements for imported elevator products, all imported elevators and core components must complete Australian compliance certification before entry; strengthening the whole life cycle supervision of elevator products, and clarifying the compliance responsibility of the whole process of product design, production, installation and maintenance. The new regulation sets a 14-month transition period and will officially take effect on July 1, 2025. All elevator products entering the Australian market must meet the new access requirements.
