This rule is the first cross-member unified supervision framework for elevator product imports in ASEAN. The core contents include: establishing a unified conformity assessment system for ASEAN elevator products, realizing mutual recognition of market access test reports and certification certificates in ten countries, and canceling repeated testing and certification requirements; unifying the import tariff schedule for elevator products, and reducing the import tariffs on elevators and core components between member states; clarifying the unified traceability requirements for elevator product imports, and establishing an ASEAN elevator product traceability information platform. The rule sets a 6-month transition period and will officially take effect on January 1, 2025, which will greatly reduce the compliance cost and improve the circulation efficiency of elevator products entering the ASEAN market.
