The scheme clarifies that for projects that transform traditional non-energy-saving elevators into variable-frequency energy-saving and energy-feedback elevators, the subsidy ratio is 25% of the total renovation cost; for projects that complete both energy-saving renovation and barrier-free upgrading, the maximum subsidy ratio can reach 40%, and the upper limit of subsidy for a single project is 50,000 euros. The subsidy application was officially opened on February 1, 2024, and the policy implementation cycle is from 2024 to 2027. Eligible owners of residential and public buildings can apply, aiming to promote the low-carbon upgrading of existing elevators and help Germany achieve the 2030 carbon neutrality goal.
