This new regulation is the first major revision of the EU's Elevator Regulation (EU) 2014/33. The core adjustments include three aspects: first, updating the CE certification test standards for key safety components of elevators, adding 12 mandatory testing items; second, strengthening the whole-process supply chain control, requiring imported elevator products to provide complete supply chain traceability documents; third, clarifying the unified law enforcement standards of market supervision authorities in EU member states, and increasing penalties for non-compliant products. The new regulation sets a 2-year transition period and will officially take effect on January 1, 2026. All elevators and core components entering the EU market must meet the new compliance requirements.
