In November 2024, the ISO/TC 178 Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization officially issued the technical report ISO/TR 8101-10:2024 Fire safety on lifts — Part 10: Comparison of safety standards worldwide on lifts used by firefighters and for building evacuation, which is the world's first special technical document for cross-border benchmarking of fire elevator safety standards. The core contents of the report include: First, complete a systematic comparison of the world's mainstream fire elevator safety standards, covering the core fire elevator standards of major countries and regions in the world such as ISO, EU EN, US ASME, China GB, Japan JIS, and Russia GOST, and sort out the differences and commonalities of the scope of application, technical requirements, test methods, and acceptance criteria of each standard. Second, clarify the core safety technical framework of fire elevators, unify the core safety dimensions of the design, manufacture, installation, inspection and use of fire elevators, including core technical modules such as fire power supply, waterproof protection, high temperature resistance, emergency control, communication system, and car environment control. Third, refine the standard requirements for the coordination of fire elevators and building evacuation, sort out the differences in technical requirements of various standards around the world for the scenario of elevators used for personnel evacuation in fire scenarios, and put forward unified technical guidelines. Fourth, standardize the test and verification methods of fire elevators, compare the processes and methods of type test, on-site test and regular inspection of fire elevators in various standards around the world, and formulate a standardized test benchmarking framework.
