Jointly formulated by the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization and National Technical Committee for Explosion-proof Electrical Equipment Standardization, this standard applies to explosion-proof elevators of Ex db, Ex de, Ex ib types. Core upgrades include:

first, expanding application scope, covering all types of explosive atmospheres such as underground coal mines, petrochemicals, natural gas exploitation, pharmaceutical dust, grain processing, clarifying elevator technical requirements for Zone 0/1/2 gas explosion and Zone 20/21/22 dust explosion environments;

second, strengthening explosion-proof structure design, standardizing structure design, material selection and sealing protection requirements for explosion-proof car, explosion-proof control cabinet, explosion-proof motor, explosion-proof switch, explosion-proof cable, clarifying core indicators such as explosion-proof surface clearance, flameproof joint length and protection grade (not lower than IP65);

third, improving electrical safety requirements, fully aligning with IEC 60079-0 and IEC 60079-31 international standards, stipulating explosion-proof types, temperature groups and maximum surface temperature limits for explosion-proof elevator electrical systems, control systems, lighting systems, communication systems, strictly prohibiting electric sparks, arcs and high-temperature hot spots;

fourth, refining safety protection devices, adding special requirements for explosion-proof overload protection, explosion-proof overspeed governor, explosion-proof safety gear, explosion-proof emergency rescue, clarifying technical specifications for emergency power cutoff, ventilation and explosion-proof alarm in explosive atmospheres;

fifth, standardizing testing and certification, formulating special methods for explosion-proof performance test, temperature rise test, spark ignition test, dust protection test, clarifying that explosion-proof elevators must obtain special equipment explosion-proof type test certificate before production and sales.

After implementation, China's explosion-proof elevator technology fully aligns with the highest international standards, breaking the technical monopoly of the EU and Japan in the explosion-proof elevator field, providing authoritative standard support for China's explosion-proof elevators to enter the global chemical, oil & gas and coal mine markets.
