This standard is formulated under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization of China. It is applicable to safety gears matched with traction and positive drive lifts, covering the whole life cycle management of safety gear design, production, inspection, installation and use. Compared with the old version, the core upgrades of this revision include: first, reconstructing the safety gear classification system, dividing safety gears into three categories: instantaneous type, progressive type and two-way type according to the braking principle, action direction and applicable scenarios, adding special technical requirements for progressive safety gears dedicated to ultra-high speed elevators and safety gears dedicated to home lifts, and clarifying the applicable speed range and load requirements of different types of safety gears; second, greatly improving the braking performance indicators, clarifying the mandatory control range of the braking deceleration of the safety gear, stipulating that the braking deceleration under full load conditions must be controlled between 0.2g and 1.0g, and shall not exceed 1.0g under empty car conditions, to eliminate the risk of personal injury and equipment damage caused by hard braking; third, refining the special specifications for two-way safety gears. For two-way safety gears used for upward overspeed protection, it clarifies the performance indicators and test standards for upward and downward two-way braking, and formulates special requirements for the synchronization and stability of two-way braking; fourth, improving the type test and factory inspection rules, adding special test methods for fatigue life test, high and low temperature environment performance test and corrosion resistance test of safety gears, stipulating that progressive safety gears must still meet the standard requirements after 20 full-load braking tests; fifth, clarifying the matching and installation specifications of safety gears, refining the matching requirements of safety gears with speed governors, guide rails and cars, and clarifying the special technical standards for installation and commissioning, gap adjustment and lubrication maintenance; sixth, refining the service life and scrapping specifications, clarifying the wear limit of safety gear braking elements and the judgment standard for deformation and scrapping, stipulating that the recommended service life of the core braking elements of safety gears shall not exceed 8 years, and a comprehensive inspection and performance verification must be carried out after each action. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively improved the product quality and safety performance of elevator safety gears in China, built a solid anti-fall safety line for elevators from the core component level, and also promoted the full integration of China's elevator safety gear products with the international market, further enhancing the competitiveness of China's elevator core components in the global market.
