China Issued Regulations on Supervision and Administration of Elevator Safety Subject Liability
This regulation is the first departmental regulation in China specifically targeting elevator safety subject liability. The core contents include: clarifying that the elevator user unit is the first responsible person for elevator safety and must be equipped with full-time safety management personnel; refining mandatory requirements for maintenance units such as maintenance frequency, project records and emergency disposal; establishing an elevator safety liability traceability system and implementing hierarchical supervision of elevator safety credit; clarifying the punishment standards for subject liability in each link, with a maximum fine of 200,000 yuan. The regulation will be officially implemented on September 1, 2024, applicable to the safety management of all passenger and freight elevators in China.
