This code is a national mandatory engineering construction code. The core contents include: clarifying that residential buildings with 4 floors and above must be equipped with elevators, canceling the original configuration requirement of 6 floors and above; updating the mandatory standards for the number, rated load capacity and rated speed of residential elevators, requiring that each unit of residential buildings with 12 floors and above shall be equipped with no less than 2 elevators that can accommodate stretchers; clarifying the technical requirements and approval specifications for elevator installation in existing residential buildings, and simplifying the installation process. The code will be officially implemented on July 1, 2025. All new residential projects must meet the new configuration requirements, and existing residential renovation projects shall be implemented with reference.
