1.Strengthened elevator earthquake countermeasure requirements, adding requirements for elevators to automatically stop and return to the nearest floor during earthquakes

2.Updated safety requirements for elevator door systems, particularly regarding measures to prevent hand entrapment

3.Improved requirements for accessible elevators, adding provisions on voice prompts, braille buttons and wheelchair space

4.Added relevant requirements for smart elevators, including remote monitoring, remote maintenance and cybersecurity

5.Updated procedures and frequency requirements for elevator inspection and testing

6.Added guidance on the use and maintenance of elevators

This standard takes special consideration of Japan's earthquake-prone characteristics and puts forward higher requirements for the seismic performance of elevators. At the same time, the standard also reflects the trend of aging society in Japan and strengthens the requirements for accessibility facilities.
