Thailand Released Old Elevator Renewal Subsidy Policy, Implemented from 2026 to 2029
On August 15, 2025, Thailand Ministry of Housing (MOH) released Old Elevator Safety Renewal Subsidy Program, implemented from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2029. Policy core:
1. Subsidy scope: Residential elevators over 15 years, public elevators over 20 years, priority for high-fault, prominent safety hazard elevators;
2. Subsidy standard: 800,000 Thai baht subsidy per renewed elevator, 400,000 Thai baht per renovated elevator, funds jointly borne by central finance, local government, owners;
3. Application process: Owner application → third-party assessment → MOH review → subsidy disbursement → acceptance;
4. Technical requirements: Renewed elevators comply with TIS 15781 standards, level 2 energy efficiency, safety compliant, intelligent monitoring, 5-year warranty;
5. Target: Complete renewal of 8,000 old elevators in 4 years, eliminating safety hazards;
