On June 15, 2024, Malaysia Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) released Old Elevator Renovation Subsidy Program, implemented from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2027. Policy core:

1. Subsidy scope: Residential elevators over 15 years, public elevators over 20 years, priority for high-fault, prominent safety hazard elevators;

2. Subsidy standard: 50,000 Malaysian ringgit subsidy per renewed elevator, 20,000 Malaysian ringgit per renovated elevator, funds jointly borne by central finance, state government, owner committee;

3. Application process: Owner committee application → third-party assessment → KPKT review → subsidy disbursement → renovation acceptance;

4. Technical requirements: Renewed elevators comply with MS 1431 standards, level 2 energy efficiency, safety compliant, intelligent monitoring, 5-year warranty;

5. Target task: Complete renovation of 12,000 old elevators from 2024 to 2027, eliminating safety hazards;

6. Supervision: Full-process supervision of renovation, final payment disbursed after qualified acceptance, subsidy recovered for violation.
