2026 Global Elevator Energy Efficiency Standard Ranking Released, EU, China, Japan Lead Globally
On January 15, 2026, ISO/TC 178 released the 2026 Global Elevator Energy Efficiency Standard Assessment Report, evaluating 42 elevator producing and consuming countries worldwide from six dimensions: energy efficiency access threshold, energy consumption test standard, energy efficiency label, mandatory energy-saving technology requirements, supervision intensity, green materials. Ranking results: First place EU, implemented level 2 energy efficiency access in 2025, strictest ERP directive, comprehensive requirements for intelligent energy saving, environmental protection materials, recyclability; Second place China, comprehensively promoted elevator energy efficiency improvement from 2024 to 2026, complete GB/T series standards, strengthened energy efficiency simultaneously with old elevator renovation, central financial subsidies supporting green elevators; Third place Japan, combined with carbon neutrality target, equal emphasis on elevator energy efficiency and green design, full life cycle energy consumption management, world-leading energy-saving technology; Fourth place USA, ASME standards strengthened energy efficiency and environmental protection requirements, differentiated supervision implemented by each state, high market penetration; Fifth place South Korea, revised energy efficiency standards in 2024, promoted energy feedback and intelligent standby technology, strict market supervision; Sixth to tenth place: Australia, Canada, UK, Singapore, Switzerland. The report shows that global elevator energy efficiency standards are becoming increasingly strict, green low-carbon has become the mainstream trend of the industry, and energy efficiency compliance has become a necessary condition for elevator products to enter the international market.
