On August 20, 2025, the International Elevator Safety Alliance (IESA) jointly with 12 national elevator associations released the 2025 Global Elevator Safety Standard Compliance Index Report, evaluating 50 major elevator countries worldwide from six dimensions: standard system integrity, supervision and law enforcement intensity, safety access threshold, old elevator control, emergency rescue capability, accident rate. Ranking results: First place EU, most complete standard system (EN/ISO 8100), strictest supervision, highest safety access threshold, lowest accident rate globally; Second place China, intensively issued standards such as TSG 08-2026, GB/T 42615 from 2024 to 2025, world's largest financial support for old elevator renovation, full coverage supervision; Third place USA, mature ASME A17 standard system, strict market supervision, standardized old elevator renovation; Fourth place Japan, JIS standards combined with seismic and aging needs, equal emphasis on safety and accessibility; Fifth place South Korea, complete KS standards, strict IoT supervision, sound maintenance system; Sixth to tenth place: Australia, Canada, UK, Singapore, Switzerland. The report points out that global elevator safety standards are becoming increasingly strict, ISO 8100 has become a global unified benchmark, and compliance capability has become the core competitiveness of elevator enterprises in the international market.
