This standard is the core mandatory standard for the Australian elevator industry. The 2025 version simultaneously adapts to the core requirements of the ISO 8100 series of international standards. At the same time, combined with Australia's local climate and architectural characteristics, it adds safety protection requirements for elevator electrical systems in high temperature and high humidity environments, anti-corrosion design specifications for elevators in coastal areas, and improves the special technical requirements for accessible elevators and home elevators. After the implementation of the standard, all elevator products sold and installed in the Australian market must comply with this specification, and it also becomes the core compliance basis for mutual recognition between the Australian and New Zealand elevator markets.
