DIN 15436 is the core technical standard for Germany's elevator maintenance industry, and also an important reference standard in the field of elevator maintenance in the EU. The core revisions of this new version of the standard include: refining the mandatory items, frequency and operation specifications of elevator maintenance, and formulating differentiated maintenance requirements for elevators of different service lives and types; adding technical specifications for maintenance of intelligent elevators and IoT elevators, and clarifying the maintenance requirements for intelligent systems and remote monitoring equipment; updating the acceptance standard and evaluation method of elevator maintenance quality; strengthening the safety specifications for elevator maintenance operations, and clarifying the operation protection and operation requirements of maintenance personnel; adding relevant standards for digital recording of elevator maintenance, promoting the digital transformation of the maintenance industry. The standard sets a 6-month transition period and will be officially implemented on December 1, 2025.
