The AS 1735 series is the core mandatory standard for Australia's elevator industry. The core contents of this new version of the standard include: canceling the original scattered technical standards of each state, and establishing a unified national elevator safety technical system; fully in line with the ISO 8100 international standard, updating the core technical requirements for elevator safety; adding the corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance requirements of elevator equipment under high temperature and high humidity, coastal high salt spray environment; updating the relevant technical specifications for elevator barrier-free design, intelligent operation and maintenance, and emergency rescue; clarifying the standard requirements for the whole process of elevator manufacturing, installation, maintenance and inspection. The standard sets a 6-month transition period and will be officially implemented on September 1, 2025. All elevator products in Australia must meet the requirements of the new version of the standard.
