On January 5, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China jointly issued Announcement No. 21 of National Standards in 2023, approving and issuing 5 national recommended standards in the elevator field, all of which were officially implemented on April 1, 2024. The 5 standards issued this time include: 1. Code for Installation and Acceptance of Elevators (GB/T 10060—2023), replacing the old version of GB/T 10060—2011. It clarifies the installation and acceptance requirements for traction elevators with rated speed no more than 6.0m/s, and traction elevators with rated speed more than 6.0m/s can be implemented with reference. The standard updates the safety requirements for elevator installation site, installation quality acceptance items, complete machine performance test methods, acceptance judgment standards, and improves the quality control specifications for the elevator installation process; 2. Safety Rules for the Construction and Installation of New Lifts in Existing Buildings (GB/T 28621—2023), replacing the old version of GB/T 28621—2012. For the scenario of adding elevators to existing buildings, it clarifies the safety requirements for the design, manufacturing and installation of new elevators in existing buildings, improves the relevant technical specifications for shaft reconstruction, civil engineering adaptation and safety protection of existing buildings, and provides a clear standard basis for adding elevators to old residential communities; 3. Technical Conditions for Elevators (GB/T 10058—2023), replacing the old version of GB/T 10058—2009. It stipulates the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of elevators, updates the relevant requirements of elevator complete machine performance, safety performance, energy consumption index and noise control, and improves the technical specifications of high-speed elevators and smart elevators; 4. General Technical Conditions for AC Elevator Motors - Part 1: Three-phase Asynchronous Motors (GB/T 12974.1—2023), replacing the old version of GB/T 12974—2012. It stipulates the terms and definitions, type and basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of three-phase asynchronous motors for AC elevators, and improves the relevant test standards for energy efficiency, reliability and safety performance of elevator motors; 5. General Technical Conditions for AC Elevator Motors - Part 2: Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (GB/T 12974.2—2023), which is the first special standard formulated. For permanent magnet synchronous motors for elevators, it clarifies the core specifications such as terms and definitions, type and basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, etc., filling the gap of special standards for permanent magnet synchronous motors for elevators in China. The issuance and implementation of these 5 national standards have further improved China's elevator standard system, enhanced the compatibility with ISO and EN international standards, and provided standard support for the high-quality development and international trade of China's elevator industry.
