National Standard GB/T 21739-2025 Safety Code for the Construction and Installation of Home Lifts Officially Released
This standard is formulated under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization of China. It is applicable to home lifts installed in private residences with rated speed no more than 0.4m/s, rated load no more than 400kg and maximum lifting height no more than 12m, covering the whole life cycle safety management of home lifts. Compared with the old version, the core upgrades of this revision include: first, reconstructing the safety protection system of home lifts, mandating that home lifts must be equipped with mechanically locked landing doors, unintended car movement protection device and door interlock protection device, and adding special safety requirements for shear prevention, extrusion prevention and fall prevention; second, refining the specifications for shaft and space design of home lifts, clarifying the special technical requirements for shaft enclosure, isolation protection and maintenance space, and formulating the minimum shaft size and safety spacing standards for different installation scenarios such as villas and self-built houses; third, improving the safety requirements for electrical and control systems, clarifying the waterproof, dustproof and grounding protection requirements for electrical equipment of home lifts, mandating the configuration of emergency leveling device and UPS uninterruptible power supply to ensure that the elevator can automatically level and open the door in case of power failure; fourth, adding intelligent safety specifications, formulating special technical requirements for data security, privacy protection and emergency response for intelligent functions such as face recognition, remote monitoring and one-key call of home lifts; fifth, improving the installation and acceptance specifications, clarifying the construction safety specifications, on-site acceptance items and judgment standards for home lift installation, requiring that the home lift must pass the inspection of a third-party institution and issue a qualified report after installation; sixth, refining the operation and maintenance specifications, clarifying the cycle and project requirements for regular inspection and maintenance of home lifts, and formulating the safety operation instructions and emergency disposal procedures for home lifts. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively standardized the production and installation market of home lifts in China, guaranteed the operation safety of home lifts from the source, and also promoted the full integration of China's home lift products with the international market, further consolidating the core competitiveness of China's home lifts in the global market.
