This standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Elevator Association, and is jointly compiled by the National Working Committee on Aging Office and the China Institute of Building Standard Design and Research. It is applicable to passenger elevators installed in residential buildings, community elderly care service centers, hospitals, elderly apartments and other places, covering the whole process of aging-friendly design of new elevators and aging-friendly transformation of existing elevators. The core contents of the standard include: first, establishing the grading system of aging-friendly elevators, dividing them into three grades: basic grade, promotion grade and demonstration grade according to the aging-friendly configuration grade, clarifying the applicable scenarios and configuration requirements of different grades, among which the basic grade is the minimum requirement for aging-friendly transformation of existing elevators, and the demonstration grade is the recommended configuration for newly built pension buildings and high-end elderly residences; second, refining the aging-friendly design specifications inside the car, mandating that the net width of the aging-friendly elevator car shall not be less than 1.4m, and the net depth shall not be less than 1.3m, to ensure that the wheelchair can enter, exit and turn smoothly; the car must be equipped with three-sided continuous handrails with a height of 0.85m~0.9m, and the ends of the handrails adopt rounded corner design; the control panel must be installed at a low position, the height of the button center from the ground is 0.9m~1.1m, equipped with large-size, high-contrast buttons with Braille, and the character height is not less than 15mm; third, improving the operation performance and comfort requirements, clarifying that the rated speed of the aging-friendly elevator is no more than 2.5m/s, the acceleration and deceleration is no more than 0.8m/s², the leveling accuracy is no more than ±3mm, the operating noise in the car is no more than 50dB(A), the door opening and closing time is adjustable, and the minimum door closing time is no less than 3s, to avoid the elderly passengers being pinched by the door when entering and exiting; fourth, standardizing the configuration requirements of intelligent aging-friendly functions, encouraging aging-friendly elevators to be equipped with voice call, face recognition call and non-sense passage functions, to avoid cross-infection and operation difficulties caused by the elderly touching buttons; mandating the configuration of full-process voice announcement, floor voice prompt, and one-key direct connection function of emergency call in the car to the property/community elderly care service center; fifth, clarifying the aging-friendly transformation specifications of existing elevators, formulating a graded transformation scheme and minimum transformation requirements for in-service elevators in old communities, clarifying the special technical requirements for handrail installation, control panel transformation, voice prompt system installation, and door opening and closing speed adjustment, to reduce the transformation threshold and expand the coverage of aging-friendly transformation; sixth, improving the acceptance and operation and maintenance specifications, formulating the on-site acceptance items and qualification judgment standards for aging-friendly elevators and aging-friendly transformed elevators, clarifying the regular inspection and maintenance requirements of aging-friendly functions in daily operation and maintenance, to ensure the long-term stable and effective aging-friendly functions. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively standardized the design and transformation market of aging-friendly elevators in China, helped the construction of national elderly-friendly cities and communities, and also promoted the integration of China's aging-friendly elevator products with international standards, providing Chinese standards and Chinese solutions for the global elevator market supporting elderly care buildings.
