On August 29, 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China officially issued the national standard GB/T 46151-2025 Electrical requirements for escalators and moving walks — Information transmission and control security, which will be officially implemented on March 1, 2026. This standard is the first special national standard for information security of escalators and moving walks in China. The core contents include: First, it has established an information security classification system for escalators and moving walks. According to the use scenarios and risk levels of the equipment, the information security is divided into 5 grades, and the security protection requirements corresponding to different grades are clarified. Second, it standardizes the security requirements for information transmission and control of escalators and moving walks, and formulates mandatory technical standards for encrypted transmission, identity authentication and access control for the whole process of data collection, transmission, storage and processing. Third, it refines the network security protection requirements of equipment, clarifies the technical specifications of firewalls, intrusion detection and vulnerability management for the control system of escalators and moving walks, to prevent the risk of network attacks. Fourth, it has formulated information security test and acceptance standards, and clarified the process, methods and judgment criteria of laboratory testing and on-site testing. Fifth, it standardizes the information security management requirements of the whole life cycle of the equipment, covering the information security control of the whole process of design, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance, and scrapping. The release of this standard fills the gap in the domestic information security standards for escalators and moving walks, and promotes the coordinated development of intelligentization and information security in the elevator industry.
