This standard is formulated under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization of China. It is applicable to energy dissipation buffers, energy accumulation buffers and non-linear buffers matched with lifts, escalators and moving walks, covering the whole life cycle management of buffer design, production, inspection, use and scrapping. Compared with the old version, the core upgrades of this revision include: first, reconstructing the buffer classification system, dividing buffers into three categories: energy accumulation type, energy dissipation type and non-linear type according to the working principle, applicable scenarios and speed grades, adding special technical requirements for special buffers for ultra-high speed elevators with rated speed greater than 6m/s and special buffers for escalators and moving walks, and clarifying the applicable speed range and load requirements of different types of buffers; second, greatly improving the core performance indicators, tightening the allowable deviation of buffer stroke, reset time and maximum deceleration, clarifying the minimum impact times requirements of buffers, and stipulating that energy dissipation buffers must still meet the standard requirements after 100 full-load impact tests; third, refining the special specifications for different types of buffers, formulating special indicators for compression set, high and low temperature resistance and aging resistance for polyurethane energy accumulation buffers; for hydraulic energy dissipation buffers, clarifying the mandatory requirements for sealing performance, oil temperature change adaptability and reset performance; fourth, improving the type test and factory inspection rules, adding special test methods and judgment standards for high and low temperature environment performance test, salt spray corrosion test and fatigue life test of buffers, clarifying the items, procedures and validity period of type tests, and tightening the sampling rules and qualification judgment criteria for factory inspection; fifth, clarifying the installation, use and scrapping specifications of buffers, refining the installation and fixation, stroke verification and daily maintenance requirements of buffers, updating the scrapping judgment standards for buffer wear, aging, deformation and performance failure, and forming a full connection with the Elevator Maintenance Rules and Elevator Supervision Inspection and Regular Inspection Rules. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively improved the product quality and safety level of elevator buffers in China, built a solid terminal safety line for elevators from the level of core safety components, and also promoted the full integration of China's elevator buffer products with the international market, further consolidating the core competitiveness of China's elevator core components in the global market.
