Core changes of the new regulation: First, comprehensively upgraded electrical safety requirements, upgraded the safety requirements of elevator electrical systems, introduced the concept of functional safety, requiring elevator control systems to comply with IEC 61508 functional safety standards, and improved the requirements for electrical insulation, grounding protection, overvoltage protection, and overcurrent protection; Second, mandatory requirements for safety components, core safety components such as elevator safety gears, speed limiters, buffers, brakes, and control cabinets must obtain IRAM certification separately, and uncertified safety components are prohibited from being used in products; Third, tightened fire performance requirements, clarifying that materials used in elevator cars, landing doors, and shaft enclosure structures must comply with IRAM 1191 fire protection standard, and flame retardant performance, smoke density, and toxicity indicators must pass the test; Fourth, new energy efficiency requirements, adding elevator energy efficiency requirements. Passenger elevators entering the Argentine market must reach energy efficiency grade 3 and above, and the energy efficiency grade must be marked on the product nameplate; Fifth, upgraded market supervision, Argentine customs list elevators as key inspection commodities. IRAM certification certificate must be submitted when each batch of goods is cleared. Goods without certificate will be directly returned. Enterprises selling uncertified products will be fined up to 35% of the goods value.
