On October 26, 2024, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China officially issued the national standard GB/T 45001-2024 Evaluation Method for Energy-Saving Technology of Elevators, which will be officially implemented on May 1, 2025. This standard is the first special national standard for energy-saving technology evaluation of elevators in China. The core contents include: First, it has established an evaluation system for elevator energy-saving technology, which divides elevator energy-saving technology into four categories: drive system energy saving, control strategy energy saving, energy feedback energy saving, and operation optimization energy saving, and clarifies the evaluation dimensions and indicators of various energy-saving technologies. Second, it has formulated a unified test method for elevator energy-saving technology, standardized the working conditions, process, data collection and calculation methods of elevator energy consumption test, to ensure the accuracy and consistency of test results. Third, it clarifies the calculation standard and grade division of elevator energy saving rate, and divides the elevator energy saving rate into 5 grades, among which grade 1 is the highest energy saving grade. Fourth, it refines the evaluation requirements of energy-saving technology for different types of elevators, and formulates differentiated evaluation benchmarks for different types of elevators such as passenger elevators, freight elevators, machine-room-less elevators, and home elevators. Fifth, it standardizes the evaluation method of energy-saving effect of elevator energy-saving transformation projects, providing a unified effect evaluation criterion for existing elevator energy-saving transformation projects. The release of this standard provides a unified technical specification for the research and development, application, evaluation and promotion of elevator energy-saving technology in China, and helps the green and low-carbon development of China's elevator industry.
