National Standard GB/T 35856-2025 Safety Code for the Construction and Installation of Marine Lifts Officially Released
This standard is jointly formulated under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization and the National Technical Committee for Ship Standardization of China. It is applicable to traction and positive drive lifts with rated speed no more than 2.5m/s installed on offshore civil ships and fixed offshore platforms, covering the whole life cycle safety management of marine lifts in all scenarios of ships and offshore platforms. Compared with the old version, the core upgrades of this revision include: first, reconstructing the classification system of marine lifts, dividing them into three categories: ordinary civil ship lifts, cruise ship special lifts, and offshore platform explosion-proof lifts according to the use scenarios, and clarifying the applicable scenarios and core technical indicators of different types of lifts; second, refining the adaptive design specifications for special working conditions of ships, formulating special strength design requirements for elevator car guide, counterweight system, door system and safety components for the extreme working conditions of ship rolling ±15° and pitching ±10°, mandating that marine lifts must be equipped with operation protection devices under ship rolling conditions; third, improving the anti-corrosion and environmental adaptability requirements, formulating special standards for anti-corrosion grade, material selection and surface treatment of elevator components for the marine high salt spray, high humidity and high temperature corrosion environment, mandating that the core structural parts adopt corrosion-resistant stainless steel or duplex steel, and the protection grade of electrical equipment shall not be lower than IP56; fourth, upgrading the ship emergency and safety protection system, mandating that marine lifts must be equipped with double-circuit independent power supply, UPS emergency power supply and manual emergency release device, and clarifying the special requirements for emergency leveling, personnel evacuation and emergency stop for extreme scenarios such as ship power failure, fire and tilting; fifth, standardizing the installation and ship adaptation acceptance standards, clarifying the special construction specifications for the connection and fixation of marine lifts and ship structures, hull vibration adaptation and fire separation, formulating the on-site performance test standards under ship rolling conditions, and incorporating the special safety functions of marine lifts into the mandatory items of supervision and inspection; sixth, refining the operation and maintenance and ship inspection specifications, formulating the cycle and project requirements for regular inspection and maintenance of marine lifts in view of the characteristics of ocean navigation and high-load use of ships, forming a full connection with the statutory ship inspection rules, and clarifying the emergency maintenance and fault disposal specifications of elevators during ocean navigation. The implementation of this standard has comprehensively standardized the production and installation market of marine lifts in China, guaranteed the safety and reliability of vertical travel on ships, and also promoted the full integration of China's marine lift products with international maritime standards, providing standardized technical support for the export of China's marine lift products to the global ship supporting market.
