Formulated led by China on behalf of the National Technical Committee for Elevator Standardization, this standard applies to energy efficiency assessment and classification of all types of passenger lifts, goods lifts and escalators. Core revisions include:

first, reconstructing energy efficiency calculation model, adopting three-dimensional comprehensive calculation method of operating cycle energy consumption, standby energy consumption, energy feedback efficiency to replace traditional single energy consumption test, accurately reflecting elevator energy consumption level under full working conditions;

second, establishing globally unified energy efficiency classification system, dividing elevator energy efficiency into five levels E1-E5 from low to high, with E5 as the highest energy efficiency level, clarifying energy consumption limits and judgment criteria for each level, adapting to energy-saving policy requirements of different regions worldwide;

third, improving energy efficiency testing specifications, unifying standards for test conditions, load conditions, environmental parameters, data collection, adding special test methods for energy feedback elevators, variable frequency drive elevators and intelligent standby elevators, ensuring globally comparable test results;

fourth, strengthening energy-saving technology identification, clarifying energy efficiency contribution calculation methods for core energy-saving technologies such as energy feedback system, permanent magnet synchronous machine, intelligent group control, standby sleep, incorporating into energy efficiency rating weight;

fifth, connecting with national energy-saving policies, fully aligning with EU ErP Directive, US Energy Star and China Energy Label System, providing unified energy efficiency basis for elevator product global market access.


After release, China's elevator energy efficiency standards achieve full integration with international standards and lead rule-making, promoting global market share of China's energy-saving elevator products to over 65%, providing authoritative energy efficiency certification reference for overseas customers' procurement.
