On February 18, 2026, the ISO/TC 178 Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization officially issued the international standard ISO/TS 8102-23:2026 Electrical requirements for lifts, escalators and moving walks — Part 23: Technical specifications for Internet of Things systems, which is the world's first special international standard for elevator IoT systems. The core contents of the standard include: First, it clarifies the architecture and functional requirements of the elevator IoT system, standardizes the design guidelines of the perception layer, network layer, platform layer and application layer, covering the whole process of data collection, transmission, storage, analysis and application. Second, it refines the data security requirements of the elevator IoT system, clarifies the mandatory technical standards for data encryption, identity authentication, access control and privacy protection, to prevent the risk of data leakage and network attacks. Third, it standardizes the interconnection and interoperability requirements of elevator IoT systems, and formulates unified data interface and communication protocol standards to achieve compatibility and interoperability of equipment from different manufacturers. Fourth, it clarifies the performance and reliability requirements of the elevator IoT system, and formulates quantitative indicators for data collection accuracy, transmission delay and system stability. Fifth, it standardizes the application requirements of elevator IoT in scenarios such as intelligent operation and maintenance, fault early warning, energy consumption management and safety supervision, providing a unified technical guideline for the research and development and application of global elevator IoT technology. After its release, the standard has been adopted as an industry technical specification by many countries and regions around the world such as the European Union, China and the United States.
